<p>Nyssa al Ghul returns to Star City to warn Thea that a group of renegade League of Assassins members are planning to attack her. This group, led by Athena, is intent on finding a mysterious box that Malcolm left behind and will stop at nothing to get it. Nyssa helps Oliver come to a life-changing realization.

<p>I don't think it was specified that he created the Thanatos Guild AFTER Season 4. In Season 4 while he was working with H.I.V.E. there have already been loyalist assassins of Merlyn working together with ghosts. So, technically we could give the Thanatos Guild retroactive appearances. </p>

<p>Well, there WAS his sad and lonely self from the Legends, but there was also his very secretive self from Season 5 of Arrow. Who knows what he's been doing behind the scenes before the whole Adrian Chase kidnappings stuff happened?

<p>There is a sizable gap of time between his depression and him re-appearing on Arrow. Maybe he got better and went on adventures with his assassins during that time. Why not?

<p>When did they comment on them being from Gotham in the episode? I caught where the costumes were from because the episode of Gotham that has the League was the one i watched right after this episode of Arrow. However i caught no mention of Gotham on Arrow. </p>
