It's depending on which. I'd say they mostly do a good job with it. (With the exception of Batwoman entirely) With cases like Arrow and Black Lightning though, they change a lot more, but end up actually improving from the comics themselves in some ways. Same with giving Supergirl a bigger role and how they fit that in while also giving the big blue boy scout a lot of lore from past events.
^exactly
For example, on the Flash. Changing Hunter Zolomon’s backstory and place of origin and (up until the finale) motivations was genius. But what they did to Blackhole in season 6...
Black Hole was an interesting organization, but i'm very different from others on my view on comics Godspeed who just feels like Flash's Red Hood.
^in the comics, they most certainly were. I mean. An evil organization who work to control, manipulate, and weaponize the speedforce is an amazing idea. Not to mention they had a cool weapon called the Blackhole gun which could literally stop a speedster in their tracks. And later, Captain Cold modified it to also shoot I’ve (he called it the “Black Ice Gun.”
Now compare that to the TV show’s Blackhole. Who specialize in light manipulation and employ light-power based metas. Also Joseph Carver is a tech billionaire instead of a mad scientist.
Honestly, CW Blackhole is BORING compared to comic Blackhole
I mean what I like about CW Blackhole is the mystery of it. Though frankly the intrigue more goes to their version of Eva rather than the organization itself cause Eva has actual payoff.

And that’s the point. EVA has actual payoff. Everything interesting about CW Blackhole is through her. But really, if you take Eva out of the equation, what really is CW Blackhole? A bland, faceless secret society who employs light based metas. That’s really it.
Indeed. I mean it was initially an interesting idea with how they started it. Iris's investigation from the Bloodwork arc and the stuff Ralph was investigating with Sue were coming up as the plot of this second half as actual payoff. This new version of Dr. Light was threatening and powerful and she was actually named Kimiyo Hoshi like the actual female Dr. Light. Plus her being a different Dr. Light showed that this season was threatening new versions of previous baddies, but then we just see a very typical gallery of rogues with the same power set after.
