Do you know how rich Amazon is? They will throw away money for nothing and they already green lit two spin-offs after just two seasons of the show. There might be spin-offs of said spin-offs. Amazon knows the Boys are making them money and they won’t throw away the potential. Don’t be dismissive of them just because it isn’t a big name. There’s many universes that started out with small names and became popular. Plus the Boys are already acclaimed and gained better reviews than any of the Arrowverse has done before, even it beat the golden boy of the Arrowverse, Superman & Lois.
bro amazon isnt going to throw their full television budget at the boys and its universe just because the show is fairly popular
I'm not sure if the current MCU shows count. If not then maybe.
I never said they were going to throw their entire TV budget at it. But they’re filthy rich, even more rich than Disney.
Again though, them just having money doesn't make The Boys a big franchise. Though if they get those LOTR rights they are planning, I could see that one they are trying being bigger, but The Boys? Not really. This is the same one made where the superheroes are disposable filler in between the adventures because literally everyone dies by the point the show is at right now. The show had to change it just for their first series. And their spin-offs are the only mentioned extras that happen offscreen. (Both in the comic and the show)
Everyone dies? Only Sitwell and Stormfront has died as a main character. All the Boys, Kimiko and the Seven main characters from season 1 are all alive. Most of the characters who died were side characters such as Becca, Susan, Translucent and Lamplighter.
I wasn't talking about the show. I'm talking the comics it is based on. The characters are basically all created to die. Because again, Garth Ennis hates superheroes. They have to edit it majorly for the show to even last beyond two seasons. Much less one show into a spin-off.
I’d argue that Star Trek is a bigger franchise than the Arrowverse. Its been going for over fifty years, so it has staying power, and it has over 800 episodes and counting spread over nine TV shows (soon to be eleven) and thirteen movies. And the quality is better much more consistently than the Arrowverse.
Eh, in my utter despise of the franchise, I would say no to that one. I even have a fan in my own house that would admit that one given the "every other film" model. Though yes, it is one of the biggest ones. Though when you include all the extended material in the Arrowverse, I think it probably rivals the number of hours.
@Icecreamdif I think you misspelled Star Wars being the biggest franchise. Semi-kidding.
But yeah, in terms of hours, I can't think of a franchise that has as many hours (if not longer of content to follow.
What do you think?
