I don't understand why everyone thinks the show has to completely like the comics. They told the Lauiver storyline, they never planned on going back to it, weather Laurel died or not. The show is going it's own direction. They want it to stand out from the comics cause they want it to be its own thing. And to people who say Laurel's alive. They've confirmed she is DEFINITELY dead. Besides, they already did the faked death plot

No one's saying it has to be exactly like the comics. But killing off Black Canary is like killing off Lois Lane in a Superhero show. She's been Green Arrow's love interest for a large portion of his existence. Right now, Oliver is the only comic book Green Arrow character still heavily involved in the show: Thea, Diggle, Captain Lance, and Merlyn were all made up by the TV Series, and Damien Dahrk and Felicity are unrecognizable from their comic book versions. It's fine for the show to have its own identity separate from the comics, but the show isn't even recognizable as a Green Arrow show anymore.

In all fairness, she's not even completely gone, Katie is gonna be on flash as Black Siren, and on Vixen too.
Plus, there's this new black canary in the summary for next episode.
On top of all that, BC still exists in some form through her sister, white canary.
Laurel Lance of Earth-1 is dead, but the black canary still exists in ways
