It doesn’t matter if they’re an archenemy, season-long big bad, recurring threat, or one-time nuisance. Who from any of the shows do you think was the absolute worst, lamest, or wasted? Just wanna hear some opinions.
I wanna see him be either the next crossover villain or the next antagonist in Superman and Lois. It’s also a good excuse to see Kara and J’onn again.
I think the Mirrorverse arc was better because it didn’t take up an entire season’s runtime to force us to care about it, plus Candice Patton also did good playing her character’s evil clone in my opinion. It was a nice seeing her doing something different outside of the always supportive wife persona, and master-of-pep-talks spiel that she’s been doing for the last few years on the show.
Don’t usually play these but I’ll go with Astra.
They may have had footage of their shows on Crisis, but they didn’t directly interact with any of the Arrowverse shows nor have they been confirmed by the creators to take place within the Arrowverse, so they are currently considered away from that stigma until a crossover with any of those shows will happen.
I’d just like to believe that at this point, Legends is set in an entirely separate continuity from the Arrowverse considering they don’t even try to adapt anything from DC Comics anymore, and have literally gotten rid of the entire original cast in favor of original characters.
There’s your answer.

I always did like the interactions between Sara and Mia, in Crisis and the Arrow series finale. It would be so awesome to see her guest star in a few episodes, and Sara becoming a mentor to her, as well as her very serious personality having to deal with the goofiness and immaturity of all the other Legends.
Bruh.....
Such a shame. Probably would’ve been a cool show.
Yeah it’s ok man, I probably should’ve made my exclamation more clear.
Never said *you* did. I was talking about anyone else on this wiki.
How can you hate Jay Garrick? This is one of the few characters this show got 100% right.
It’s a shame you can only pick one...
So with the reports that David Ramsey is returning to the Arrowverse and reprising his familiar role as John Diggle in several shows this season, including Supergirl, Batwoman, LoT, and Superman & Lois, what could be the reason behind this? Personally I’m happy that the actor and the character will still be involved within this shared multiverse, and it’ll definitely be a follow up with what happened with him in the Arrow series finale. Thoughts on what could happen?
Welcome to a daily post where I will look over various characters from the Arrowverse, and see if they had really contributed to the stories of their shows, or ultimately became useless; in other words, they “suck”. There will be people who may express similar beliefs or oppose them, but I intend no harm and I am purely posting this for entertainment and analysis purposes.
Now that we’re done with the introduction, let’s get to the bottom of why GODSPEED sucks.
In recent comics, the character of August Heart/Godspeed has earned the place as one of the more popular and critically acclaimed characters from The Flash comics. So it only figures that he would appear in the live-action series eventually, right? Of course, but many viewers have been perplexed by how the show has been treating this character beloved by readers. As an adaptation of course, a few liberties need to be taken to put a character in live-action, but in the case of Godspeed, it would seem that they just took his name and costume and gave it to a Zoom wannabe.
As he is introduced in season 5, August Heart is a former janitor working for multiple high-profile laboratories in the future by Nora West-Allen’s time. Idolizing speedsters, particularly Zoom, August wanted speed for himself and so used his technical know-how to recreate the Velocity-9, the same formula that Zoom used to increase his speed. He would take the drug to become a speedster, calling himself Godspeed, and he would use his powers to steal chemicals and machinery needed to create more V9, so he can permanently gain speedster powers. He had the distinction of being Nora’s first villain after she learned that she also had speedster powers and was the Flash’s daughter, where he killed her best friend Lia for getting in his way, then proceeded to get defeated by Nora thanks to the help of Eobard Thawne. Of course, when Nora got erased from existence, her actions in stopping Godspeed were erased and it appeared he succeeded in his motivations to become a true speedster.
Following the timeline change, he recruited and brainwashed several others to go back in time and wreak havoc in 2019 Central City in his name and suit, fighting the Flash and his allies. None of these imposters were able to talk, but a fifth one who showed up in 2020 explained they wanted “infinite velocity” after being defeated. Given that Godspeed’s powers were derived from a chemical compound, he and his minions were kept safe from the death of the Speed Force and retained their speed.
So, after all that, DOES Godspeed suck? Let’s see;
In the fifth season, Godspeed was made into one of the “villains of the week” in his featured namesake episode, much to fans’ ire who otherwise praised his costume design kept faithful from the comics, and his voice actor B.D. Wong, who previously played Hugo Strange on Gotham. The fact that he was the driving force behind Nora/XS becoming a hero, in part by killing her BF, is substantial to helping set up one of the series’ main characters. Though because of Nora getting erased from existence and not being there to mess with his plans, Lita is likely still alive, and it also took away the important role Godspeed played in setting up Nora. It would seem upon going into season 6, the creators realized they underused Godspeed and sought to make him a behind-the-scenes, budding threat by having him form a group of men that he brainwashed to go back in time and attack present-day Central City, likely because he wants to siphon the Flash’s power. So while he wasn’t much of an active threat in season 6, it’s possible he can be a more major villain in season 7. But the most major problem with Godspeed is how they changed his backstory. Godspeed in the comics was a coworker and good friend of Barry Allen in the CCPD. Originally his partner after gaining speedster powers, August Heart decided to use his powers to go after criminals lethally, including his brother’s killer, and also became addicted to stealing other speedsters’ power, driving him to villainy. The tragic backstory based with his brother was briefly mentioned, but they had supposedly left August Heart with malevolent intentions from the start, which gives him much less depth as a character. Of course with season 5, the creators were always more invested in developing Nora’s character rather than fleshing out any of the villains in that season, even both Cicadas.
Considering we actually don’t know much about this version of Godspeed, and more of his personality and motivations, it is hard to ascertain if he does suck. So for now, until more episodes get aired and more information can be claimed, I’ll have to give it a MAYBE.
What do you all think? Does Godspeed actually suck? Feel free to write down in the comments. Otherwise, I’ll see you all tomorrow with a new post regarding another character from Arrow!
XanderMCC, I appreciate your points, but I can also address that the creators could’ve always replaced her actress with somebody who looked similar or at best had similar acting ability. Also, I was under the impression the comics were non-canon as they don’t address the events on the show or keep any reference to them. I understand Marc Guggenheim himself wrote them, but it has been a touchy issue to truly discern if the events in the comics had happened within the same reality as the show or were rather just non-canon; the fact that Bronze Tiger was believed to have been killed in that story was later retconned when he became a recurring character in season 7. So I had only chosen to address events that happened specifically on just the show, not in all forms of media she was featured in. Thank you for your input, sir.
Lol well I won’t give much away, but tomorrow I’m intending to ANALYZE a character from The Flash next.

Now that we’re done with the introduction, let’s get to the bottom of why THE HUNTRESS sucks.
Helena Bertinelli is a character from Arrow, who recurred in season 1 and made a guest appearance in season 2. I’m not counting her brief appearance in the comic books. In her introduction, Helena became inspired to become a vigilante thanks to The Hood, and wanted to kill her crimelord father for killing her fiancé, and take down his empire. She and Oliver Queen discover each other’s identities and even hook up, agreeing to team up to take her father down. Unfortunately for Oliver, he sees that Helena is even more brutal with dispatching criminals than he already is at this point, and realizes she’s flown one over the cuckoo’s nest, especially when he learns that she’s willing to hurt innocent people to accomplish her goals. So Helena took this as a betrayal and left after realizing she sucked at killing her daddy when he shot her with her own weapon. A year later she comes back after learning her daddy got arrested, only to believe that true justice was a crossbow bolt through his eye. She finally went off the deep end by taking everyone inside the courtroom that held his trial hostage after he escaped, only to get her candy ass handed to her by Team Arrow, and she also lost her dad to a crazy cop. In the end, Helena was sent to prison, realizing she was alone in this world and that she didn’t get to be the one to kill her daddy, like every little girl dreams of.
So, does Huntress suck? Well, let’s see:
The thing is, I’m not a major Huntress fan, but from what I can gather, the Arrowverse didn’t do her justice. Yes, after her appearances she is referenced a few times later in the show, but that doesn’t do her character any good. The Huntress is one of the few heroes in DC who is unphased with killing her enemies, but by just making her entire character in this show just have a single-minded vendetta against her crimelord father, and not branching out to other criminals to enact the kind of justice she believes in, it leaves her shallow and just another bit villain for Team Arrow to take down. Had the writers actually tried thinking, Helena would have been an interesting contrast to Oliver Queen if they chose to make her a recurring character, especially after he declares his no-killing rule, and possibly give her a redemption arc. Even by the series finale, no closure was given for Helena, so we can just assume she stayed in prison, all butt-hurt about not killing daddy. Again, I’m not counting the comics based off the show, those are non-canon.
So unfortunately, in my final conclusion, I will have to say that the Huntress from Arrow does indeed SUCK. :(
What do you guys think? Does the Huntress actually suck, or are there a few redeeming points about her that I missed? Let me know in the comments!
Pretty much what happened in that episode was that the Obsidian system was flawed after a vicious hack attack in the previous episode, so anybody who would use their lenses would risk having their minds get stuck in the virtual world and have them believe their fictious lives were actually their real lives, in spite of how odd it all was.
The rock star was in there to get away from the grief of his dead wife, and when he got stuck in there, the Leviathan granny came to pick him up and study him, maybe for some unknown agenda. Same with the treasure hunter lady. Effectively, they weren’t sleeping, they were stuck in a catatonic state living their virtual lives in a loop. Like prisoners from The Matrix. And it almost happened to Alex too, if it weren’t for Kelly getting there in time and helping her snap out of it.
I’d say Mona really didn’t help drive the story any further, and that it was the writers’ attempt to try and fit an original character into the Legends. Obviously, she didn’t work out and many people found her annoying and unnecessary in the story, which is why they reduced her to making a few appearances in season 5. Plus imagine always having to bring in that other actress to play her werewolf form.
Legends’ biggest problem right now is that for a series that started with having an ensemble cast of superheroes, they kicked em out one by one. Heat Wave, Steel and Constantine are the only characters straight from the comics on this team now, and Zari and Behrad are only loose adaptations of Isis and Osiris, to the point there really isn’t much comparison. I still enjoy and remain intrigued by the different ways they fix time throughout the seasons.
I would like to believe that the writers should go back and take lessons from seasons 1 and 2 and bring more comic characters into the story, because characters like Mona, Ava, and Gary are seen as either too annoying or unnecessary to the story. Hell, we’re five seasons in and we still haven’t seen Booster Gold in this series yet, who is well-known in DC for being a time-traveling, glory-hogging superhero. He would legitimately be a perfect fit for this crazy team. But hey, when will the CW ever listen to fans, right?
