By the beginning of 2015/in January, enormous wildfires were recorded across the state of California, burning on magnitudes extreme/severe enough that warranted the involvement of nearby/neighboring states, across the United States on Earth-1.

In January 2015, a large blaze was terrorising the state of California, resulting in thousands of people being displaced. National Guardsmen from neighbouring states assisted with fighting the blaze, and Barack Obama, the President of the United States at the time, appeared with the Governor of California to commit more assistance and money to contain the blaze.^[1]

In real life, The 2015 California wildfire season was a series of wildfires that burned across the state of California. By the end of 2015 a total of 8,745 fires were recorded, burning 893,362 acres (3,615 km^2) across the state.^[2] Approximately 3,159 structures were damaged or destroyed by wildfires, and at least 7 fatalities were recorded.
On September 11, after the Butte Fire exploded from a size of 32,000 acres (129 km^2)^[3] to 65,000 acres (263 km^2), in the Amador and Calaveras counties, Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency.^[4]
