A series of lightning guns were created by the A.S.A. to frame Black Lightning for the death of Lady Eve.
History[]
The A.S.A. manufactured the weapons with the intent to frame Black Lightning for Lady Eve's death, its power taking a billion joules and also being nuclear powered. However, the lightning guns ultimately failed to accurately match the injuries seen via Black Lightning's powers.[1]

Trivia[]
- Since the A.S.A. didn't have full knowledge of Black Lightning's powers, it failed to match the strength and type of lightning/electricity of Black Lightning himself, with the effects being rather akin to that of a burn, a high voltage flash versus actually producing lightning or electricity; this was proven by the fact that it didn't leave a tree pattern on Lady Eve, otherwise known as lichtenberg scarring which is a fractal pattern that occurs when electricity passes through an insulating material.
- Monovista International manufactures their own Direct Energy Guns, or DEGs;[2] it is unknown if these energy weapons have any relation to the A.S.A.'s, where they both shoot a lightning bolt out. However, the former is used to frame Black Lightning with a distinctive Lightning pattern, while the latter is an energy weapon used by the Freeland Police Department (Earth-Prime).
