- "You know, when I was in Afghanistan, I had a job, and I did it. And when I could, I would help out the people there so that, in some small way, when I left, I could believe I left it a better place."
- —John Diggle[src]
Afghanistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is a landlocked sovereign state forming part of South Asia, Central Asia, and to some extent, Western Asia.
Overview[]
Afghanistan has been home to extensive military occupation by the United States due to the War on Terror. The country is implied to have great political unrest, given the activity of local insurgent groups such as the Taliban.[1]
History[]
During his time in the United States Army, John Diggle served three tours in Afghanistan.[2] At the age of 22, Michael Terrill also served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan, but he was killed by an IED.[3]
