Al-Fatih (Arabic: الفاتح for Conqueror) was the founder of the League of Assassins and, subsequently, the first Ra's al Ghul.

In 1013, Al-Fatih was visited by Mar Novu, who bestowed upon him knowledge not previously possessed by man. He heavily implied the need to keep the balance or else the "god" would bring about the end of times. Thus, Al-Fatih founded the League of Assassins, naming himself "Ra's al Ghul" as the leader of the group. Before his death, Al-Fatih wrote an encoded message in a scroll, The Chronicles of Al-Fatih, inside of which was enclosed a marble featuring a map leading to his eventual crypt. He eventually died, being buried within the tomb with his sword and a journal.[1]
