"And Then the Devil Brought the Plague: The Book of Green Light" is the fifth episode of the first season of Black Lightning, and the fifth episode overall. It aired on February 13, 2018.

Synopsis

Plot

Peter Gambi makes some modifications to the Black Lightning suit, allowing Jefferson Pierce to fly. However, the modifications make Jefferson start to suffer from headaches.

Tobias Whale visits Gambi, looking to discover the identity of Black Lightning. Gambi reminds Tobias they had a deal and Tobias is breaking it by coming to his shop, He also tells him that he has no idea who Black Lightning is. Continuing to track Green Light, Jefferson finds that Joey Toledo is dealing it

Jennifer Pierce gets into a fight at a skating rink, resulting in her breaking the wrist of a girl named Lana. Lana's family is understandably angry and Jefferson and Lynn take responsibility but are nonetheless impressed by Jennifer's actions.
