Banshees are vengeful female spirits that hail from Ireland. They are known in Irish folklore to be heralds of death and emit ghastly shrieks. Banshees are also known to be able to afflict spells and curses on those who steal from them or disturb them.
History[]
At some point, a banshee in Ireland was robbed by an ancestor of Siobhan Smythe, so she cursed the women in that family with the Curse of the Banshee.[1]
Clifford DeVoe called Siren-X a "banshee" after being attacked, due to her having similar powers to the species itself.[2]
