Banshees are vengeful female spirits that hail from Ireland. They are known in Irish folklore to be heralds of death and are known for their ghastly shrieks. They are also known to be able to afflict spells and curses on those who steal from them or disturb them.
History
At some point, a banshee was robbed by an ancestor of Siobhan Smythe, so she cursed the women in that family with the Curse of the Banshee.[1]
Clifford DeVoe called Siren-X a "banshee" after being attacked, due to her having similar powers to the species itself.[2]

- Power bestowal: Banshees are give superhuman powers to a host through a curse or possession.[1]
- Telepathy: Banshees can telepathically communicate to others through whispers.[1]
