Batwoman is a television series based on the DC Comics character with the same name starring Ruby Rose in Season 1. It is developed by Greg Berlanti, and produced by Caroline Dries. A pilot was ordered on January 3, 2019 at The CW. On May 7, 2019, it was picked up to series on the network. It premiered on October 6, 2019. On October 25, 2019, it was originally revealed to have been picked up for a full season consisting of 22 episodes.[1] However, the number of episodes for Season 1 was reduced to 20 due to production shutting down in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.[2]
