Ben West is the father of Joe West and the paternal grandfather of Iris, Wally, and Jenna West.
Biography
In his youth, Ben West was a police officer of the Central City Police Department. His son, Joe, always looked up to his father and wanted to be just like him.[1]
Ben gave his son Christmas gifts with not-so-hidden messages behind them, such as a watch because of how late he always ran and weights because Ben thought Joe was too skinny. Ben told Joe that he would one day give "fine presents" to his own son.[2]
Legacy
In adulthood, Joe followed in his father's footsteps and became a cop.[1] The watch that Ben gifted Joe was later passed down to Joe's foster son, Barry Allen.[2]
