Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States. His work led to the development of the United States Postal Service in the centuries following his service.[1] Franklin was quite highly regarded by the early 21st century, such that his likeness was on the $100 bill.[2]

In 1775, Benjamin Franklin was appointed the first postmaster general of the United States. His work in the role set foundations for formation of the modern United States Postal Service in 1971.[1]
At some point after his work as postmaster general, Franklin was recognized by having his likeness was used on the $100 bill.[2]

- In real life Benjamin Franklin was a polymath and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He served as the 1st United States Postmaster General from July 26, 1775 – November 7, 1776, as well as having served in a number of other governmental roles both before and after the founding of the United States.
- Benjamin Franklin has also been featured on the U.S. $100 bill since 1914, unlike on Earth-19 where H.R. Wells notes Abraham Lincoln is on the U.S. $100 bill.
