Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel (died 1947) was an infamous mobster from Los Angeles who was restored to life by Astra Logue.

Biography[]

After Benjamin's death, he went to Hell and his soul was claimed by Astra Logue. He became an Encore after his resurrection and took Blue Iguana club. With own Hell gun as well, he became the rich man over the night by blackmailing any person in the town using a stash of pictures hidden in Burbank's grave. With his fortune he was able to buy the police as his protection force. Anyone who will try to arrest or kill him will end up badly, like the private investigators Webb and Moore who were killed by him or rival gangsters. Benjamin also had a girlfriend Jeanie Hill who tried to escape him. After some setbacks, The Legends realized that they would have to defeat him by taking off his Hell gun and replace it with the ordinary one. Benjamin riddled out that the guests like Sara are his enemies and he tried to kill her, but was kicked down by Rory. He was defeated by the Legends, and while Sara was originally going to keep him imprisoned on the ship, John Constantine had other plans. John then overthrew Sara's decision to house Benjamin on the Waverider and sent Him back to Hell. During his meeting with Astra, Constantine used the Hell gun to kill Benjamin.[1]

Benjamin is described as charismatic, ambitious and intimidating man who would do anything to become the most powerful and famous criminal in Los Angeles after he was resurrected by Astra Logue. With his fortune (including his hidden blackmail stash of pictures) and Hell gun, Benjamin felt to be untouchable and that no one will be able to kill or arrest him. Despite his overconfidence, he was able to be fooled by the Legends, especially after taking his Hell gun and replacing with the ordinary one, leading to his defeat by them and ultimately sending him to Hell.

  • Encore Physiology: After dying Benjamin was resurrected and turned into a encore, this granted him superhuman abilities.
    • Immortality: As an encore, Benjamin was immortal and could never die.
    • Superhuman durability: Benjamin was able to survive a hail of bullets from a mob of gangsters without any signs of visible pain.

  • Skilled marksman: Benjamin was a skilled marksman, particularly with his Hell revolver.[1]
  • Indomitable will: After being resurrected by Astra Logue, Jeanie Hill has described Benjamin as more ambitious and fearless of anything on Earth. Even when he was outnumbered, he stood against his armed enemies.[1]

  • Hell gun: Benjamin had a gun from hell which had ignis inferni (Hellfire) bullets. It could kill the living as well as the dead, with its bullets completely obliterating their targets on contact. The bullets could also jump from target to target, seemingly by the shooter's will. Constantine will use it to kill Bugsy.[1]
  • Blackmail stash: Benjamin owned a blackmail stash of pictures hidden in a grave in Burbank. He would use it to corrupt people in power.[1]

  • Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel (February 28, 1906 – June 20, 1947) was an American mobster. Siegel was known as one of the most "infamous and feared gangsters of his day". Described as handsome and charismatic, he became one of the first front-page celebrity gangsters. He was also a driving force behind the development of the Las Vegas Strip.
