I was thinking about this based on some off-site discussions and just some observations about Eobard and the whole wheelchair thing.
I know they established that the wheelchair was holding some sort of power source that seemed to be charging Eobard while he sat in it but there were some things I was wondering:
- Did Eobard actually suffer some sort of injury during the accident and did he really need a wheelchair at first?
- If yes to the first one, how long did it take him to heal?
- We saw that when Eobard lost the connection to the speedforce, he seemed to lose his ability to stand/walk/run. Was this because of the injury from the particle accelerator or because of something that happened during a fight with Barry in the future (or maybe another accident)? Or was it just that without the speed force he was so weakened he couldn't support himself?
- Since it seemed apparent that he did have use of his legs and was able to feel, how did he manage to keep still all the time and never have Cisco or Caitlin notice? (I noticed several times throughout the show where he moved a foot or leg slightly-- and in one episode he had his feet apart one moment and the next his left foot was tipped on its side and resting up next to his right foot). Even if they never spotted him moving, wouldn't Caitlin have wanted to examine him and check to see the condition of his spine?
- Did he just refuse to be examined for personal reasons or something? He allowed Caitlin to patch him up after the supposed attack by Reverse-Flash-- and you'd think she would want to check his spine since he got thrown around like a ragdoll somewhat (although not as epic of a ragdoll beating as Loki got in Avengers).
- Was the power source in his chair running out or something?
I guess I'm really wondering if he was legitimately crippled without the chair and power.
Any thoughts?
As an aside, am I the only person who can't look at Tom Cavanagh without remembering him on Scrubs-- particularly the whole beer in the bathtub stuff?
