Bridget Carlberg is the grandmother of the late Philip Carlberg.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Bridget raised Philip until he graduated from high school. After that, she noticed a change in the boy's behavior and discovered that he was smoking marijuana. Therefore, she threw him out of the house, thinking that he would get smart and come back. The boy, however, decided to hitchhike to the city, but the driver lost control of the car, ran into a tree and killed the young man. Since then, Bridget has started to blame herself for the boy's death.[1]
Spiritual Liberation[]
Unable to come to terms with the loss of her grandson for the next few years, she decided to go to Papa Midnite and talk to the ghost of Philipp. Her tremendous guilt was so strong that, combined with the man's mystical abilities, it brought the boy's spirit back to Earth. He got stuck in his own loop and was looking for a ride to town, killing several people on the same tree where he had died. The whole case was taken care of by a team of exorcists who visited Bridget, who told about the whole incident. But when Midnite and Constantine set out to tackle the overwhelming problem, with the help of Detective Corrigan, they brought the relatives of the resurrected victims to hiding places, where they forced them to come to terms with their loss. This allowed them to begin the ritual that sent the spirits back, including Philip's spirit.[1]
