Sometime prior to 2007, the company began illegally dumping large amounts of toxic waste into The Glades. Employee Camille Declan discovered this and planned to expose the operation, but was murdered before she could do so.
In late 2012 when The Hood helped Laurel Lance prove that the company's CEO, Jason Brodeur, arranged for Camille's murder to cover up the toxic waste dumping, he was arrested. Brodeur Chemical was subsequently fined millions of dollars in environmental cleanup costs from at least five federal, state, and local agencies.
