"Hey, aren't you Bruce Wayne?"

Bruce Wayne,[1] better known as the crime lord Owlman, is a resident of Earth-27 and a member of the Crime Syndicate of America.

Member of the Crime Syndicate

In 2014, Bruce Wayne was in Central City when the particle accelerator exploded, and he witnessed the creation of hyperhumans. Bruce joined four such hyperhumans – Power Ring, Johnny Quick, Superwoman, and Ultraman – to form the Crime Syndicate of America and took on the alias "Owlman". The Crime Syndicate soon took over the United States, after which they each controlled a different part of the country. Bruce's territory included Gotham City, which he ruled with an iron fist.[2][1]

The following took place in an alternate timeline where Flashpoint never happened.

In 2016, James Jesse showed a map of the United States revealing each territory of the country taken by the Crime Syndicate. Owlman's symbol was an owl head.[2]

Stranded on another Earth

In 2018, Bruce built a device in Central City that opened a breach to Earth-1's Central City in order to escape the destruction of his world caused by the Anti-Matter Man. Later, instead of attacking that new universe like the rest of the Crime Syndicate, Bruce removed his disguise and masqueraded as an ordinary citizen. After witnessing the Syndicate's defeat, Bruce started planning to take over Central City, but was interrupted by a cop who recognized him as Bruce Wayne.[1]

  • Genius-level intellect: Bruce's genius intellect earned him a place in the Crime Syndicate of America. He is considered the smartest man on Earth-27, garnering a dangerous reputation.[1]
    • Master engineer: Bruce is an extremely capable engineer, able to design a device that could breach him to another Earth.[1]
  • Intimidation: Despite not having any powers, Bruce is the most feared member of the Crime Syndicate.[1]

Behind the scenes

  • In DC Comics, Owlman is a member of the Crime Syndicate of Earth-3 and is the evil counterpart to Bruce Wayne. His real name has been unknown in most continuities until JLA: Earth-2 and the New 52, where he was given the identity of Thomas Wayne, Jr., the older brother of Bruce Wayne.
    • This adaptation is Bruce Wayne.
