Candice Pergande is a former resident of Smallville, a former cheerleader of Smallville High School, a former employee of Victoria May's and a resident of Topeka.
Candice is also the estranged daughter of Emmitt Pergande, the niece of Peggy and the girlfriend of Jonathan Kent. While living in Smallville, she briefly acted as a (reluctant) drug dealer.

Biography[]
Early life[]
- "My dad's got a heart condition, and we're totally broke. We've moved seven times in the past nine years. And not into perfect farmhouses like this. He can't keep doing that. And I can't either."

At some point, Candice's father, Emmitt Pergande had developed a heart condition. From 2013 to 2022, they moved seven times; eventually settling in Smallville, where she started attending Smallville High School and became a cheerleader.[1]
Dating Jonathan Kent[]
At some point, Candice started dating Jonathan Kent.
After a football practice, Candice and Jonathan were dropped off at the Kent Farm; by Clark Kent. When Jonathan was complaining about not getting enough time at practices, Candice told him that; he should talk to coach Gaines and let him know that; he is frustrated. Clark then had to leave to save a sinking submarine, and Candice and Jonathan went inside the house.
Later, Jonathan's mother, Lois Lane caught him and Candice kissing in bed. Candice was then told to leave the house.[2]
While at school, Candice and Jonathan were kissing; by her locker; when Timmy Ryan and Malcolm Teague teased him about it. Candice called them disgusting.[3]
Giving Jonathan X-Kryptonite[]
Candice sold X-Kryptonite drugs to Timmy Ryan so that she could help her father pay the bills and avoid living on the streets.
The following day at school, Jonathan and Candice were walking in the halls together while he vented his frustrations out and claimed that Timmy is using drugs to beat him for the starting quarterback position. Candice hesitantly stated that she knew and saw him getting his supplies some time ago while at "a friend's party". Jonathan demanded to know why she didn't tell him; Candice claimed that; she didn't want him to know seeing how frustrated it makes him and pleaded for Jonathan not to tell Timmy that; he knew before heading off to her class.
After school, Candice practiced with the cheerleading squad out on the track and watched a fight unfold between Jonathan and Timmy. Later that night, Jonathan went to Candice's house, confronting her about Timmy telling him that; she's secretly selling drugs. Candice didn't deny it, and in her defense, she explained that she did it to help pay the bills that; her father can't pay. Candice then told him that; if he's here to break up; with her then he should just do it. Jonathan had stated that; he isn't and in fact wants to buy some drugs for himself to get ahead of Timmy after finding out he was the starting quarterback; despite the earlier fight.[4]
The next week at school, Candice stopped by Jonathan's locker to give him an inhaler full of X-Kryptonite, unbeknownst to him. Jonathan asked Candice what the drug does exactly and she replied that; she doesn't really know; since it affects everyone differently. Jonathan then expressed his hesitancy to her about juicing himself up just really wasn't his thing. Candice told him she understands, but explains that; Timmy bought five inhalers full of the drug on the past weekend and how Jonathan might need it to beat him just in case. She kissed him and walked away.[5]
After the Smallville Crows beat the Gators, Candice went to the locker room in her cheerleading uniform and congratulated Jonathan on his success telling him that their plan had worked. But Jonathan did not have the same enthusiasm as Candice, much to her surprise. Candice then left the locker room after Jordan Kent walked; into the room and wanted to talk; with his brother.[6]
Later at school, Candice brought Jonathan some more X-K inhalers, but Jonathan refused to take them, and told her he was done taking X-K to improve his athletic abilities. Principal Balcomb and the police entered the hallway, with a drug-sniffing dog. Candice became worried that she would be caught with the X-K and her whole life would be upended. Jonathan offered to dispose of the inhalers but was caught in the process. After Jonathan was caught, Candice texted him asking if he was okay and that she was sorry.[7]
Telling the truth[]
Candice's dealer, Mickey Jeroux, started chasing her at school after money, but Jordan Kent noticed the situation and told Mickey to go away. That night, Candice picked up Jonathan at Brit & Dunn's Quick Mart. On the way, Candice said that; she loved him and they kissed, but were interrupted by Mickey; who used X-K and attacked them. The two were saved; by Jordan and Candice ran away.[8]
The next day, Candice went to the Kent Farm to tell the truth. She explained to Lois Lane that; she had no other choice; but to sell the drugs. She had to keep her family stable and to avoid having to move again; due to her father's heart condition.[1]
After Superman stopped Ally Allston from merging the two worlds, Candice and Jonathan went out to celebrate in Smallville.[9]
Moving away from her father[]
A matter of weeks after Ally's defeat, Candice has grown closer to Jonathan and has also formed a friendship with Jordan Kent and Natalie Lane Irons. She also began working at Victoria May's.
Candice later went to Jordan and Jonathan's birthday at Kent Farm. A matter of days later, Candice's father, Emmit stole Jonathan's truck, but after Jonathan got it back, Candice arrived at the Kent farm to give back Natalie's watch.[10][11]
When Candice's father, Emmit punched Jonathan, pulled a gun on Lois and fought Clark, a heartbroken Candice moved in with her boyfriend and the rest of the Kent family as her father left Smallville and left Candice behind to fend for herself.[12]

Candice is a rather complicated girl. She and her father moved around a lot in her life and her father has a severe heart condition. Candice got desperate and started selling drugs to pay for her father and house bills.
But despite Candice seemingly only looking out for herself and her dad, Candice has shown that; she is capable of caring for others, especially her boyfriend, Jonathan Kent. She fell in love with him and wasn't afraid to go all in with him. She attempted a few times to seduce him and would have had sex with him if Jonathan's mother, Lois Lane hadn't interrupted. Overall, Candice is a good individual who is not afraid to do what she has to do to protect the ones she loves.
