Cards to Save the Timeline is a card game created by Ray Palmer to act as an exercise for the Legends to learn from their previous mistakes on missions.
History[]
After Sara left Ray as interim captain of the Waverider, he introduced the game to Constantine and Charlie. However, they convinced him to go on a mission instead, rather than playing the game.[1]
Sara found the game in Ray's quarters while searching for clues, bemused by the concept. Trapped on the Waverider, the team played it.[2]

Behind the scenes[]
- Cards to Save the Timeline is a parody of Cards Against Humanity, a party game in which statements given on a black card are either filled in or answered using words or phrases given on white cards, typically deemed as offensive or off-color.
- Considering the nature of the game, various cards make reference to events in prior episodes:
- Nate Heywood piloting the Waverider while high on hallucinogens in "Zari".
- John Noble's appearance in "Guest Starring John Noble".
- Grodd's appearances in "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Guest Starring John Noble".
- One of the cards features Damien Darhk on its flip side; he was a major villain in the third season.
