"Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant #1" is the first chapter of the comic book series Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant. It was released digitally on December 15, 2019.
Trivia
- In addition to two all-new stories tied into the crossover event, this issue features reprints from the original Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book event. The stories included are:
- Crisis on Infinite Earths Pt. 1 (new)
- The Council Pt.1 (new)
- Crisis on Infinite Earths #1: The Summoning!
- Crisis on Infinite Earths #7: Beyond the Silent Night
- This comic's main story heavily featured characters who could not be featured in the television episodes of the crossover event: Felicity Smoak, Ray Terrill/The Ray, Nyssa al Ghul, and Wally West/Kid Flash.
- Wally West is shot and killed by an anti-matter blast from Outkast in this issue.
- This is the first time a version of Wonder Woman and Green Lantern appeared in the Arrowverse.
- However, Wonder Woman had been confirmed to exist on Earth-1 prior to this in "The Rabbit Hole".
- Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) also had been implied to exist on Earth-1 through both the appearance of Jordan in "Green Arrow" and the mention of a missing test pilot who worked for Ferris Air in "Rogue Air".
- Earth-X, Earth-D, Earth-F, Earth-N52 and Earth-76 made an appearance.
- Despite not being named on screen, the New 52 Justice League, including Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman, make an appearance on TV.
- The Justice Alliance from Earth-D make an appearance.
- This story takes place during "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Two".
- This comic introduced the Council of Luthors and the Council of Supermen to the Arrowverse.
- Multiple Lex Luthors and Supermen were adapted from other DC media, including animated, comics and live-action material.
- The place of the Council of Luthors' meeting is Earth-99, which later became a location visited by Supergirl and Batwoman during the search for the Paragon of Courage.
- It was believed that Earth-38 Lex Luthor time traveled back in time on Earth-38 to meet Superman, who had traveled back in time to get a Kryptonian rattle for Jonathan Kent from the Fortress of Solitude.
- However, in Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant #2, it was revealed that the Crisis had caused Superman to become disoriented and accidentally travel to The Fortress on Earth-86, mistaking it for his own from the destroyed Earth-38.
- Earth-38's Superman is erroneously depicted sporting the House of El emblem on his cape during a confrontation with his Lex Luthor. The emblem then disappears for the remainder of the story.
