The Department of Extra-Normal Operations, simply known as the D.E.O., is a governmental organization.
History[]
In the reality created by Obsidian Platinum, tailor-made to the thoughts of Alex Danvers, Alex is Supergirl, instead of Kara Danvers, and works for the organization. In this reality, Kara is an ordinary human, though still Alex's younger sister.[1]
J'onn J'onzz runs the organization under the disguise of Hank Henshaw, but the real person is a terrorist who desires the death of Supergirl.
To that end, Henshaw kidnapped Kara and was holding her hostage when Alex was visiting the D.E.O. Henshaw told Supergirl, using a high-pitched form of communication that only she and Animals could hear, that he wanted to trade Kara for a nuclear warhead. Alex feigned agreement, but when they met, the warhead was worthless. After a brief skirmish, Henshaw was captured by the D.E.O.[1]
