- "This is our Earth. Let's call it Earth-1. And this second Earth, let's call it Earth-2. This is where Jay claims to be from. And these other Earths, 3, 4, 5, to infinity, all of them, are nearly identical to ours. And they all exist at the same time, giving us endless alternatives to what we have here."
- —Martin Stein[src]
Earth was the third planet orbiting the solar system's yellow sun. The planet served primarily as home to its native species, the human, and came into existence long before the written history of its population.
The planet was sometimes referred to by its residents as Earth-1, in reference to its location in the multiverse.[1]

History
In prehistoric times, Earth-1 was populated by dinosaurs.[2] In the 20th century, some humans began to gain superpowers through various means. They became known as meta-humans, and the threat posed by their abilities attracted the attention of an alien species known as the Dominators. In 1951, the Dominators launched a reconnaissance mission in Redmond, a city in the United States, and waged a battle against the United States Army. The aliens would later return in 2016 with the goal of eradicating all meta-humans after they deemed Barry Allen's ability to travel through time a threat to all of reality.[3] However, they were defeated and forced to retreat by the Earth's heroes with help from Supergirl an alien herself from another universe.
A year later the Earth was attacked again this time being Nazis who originated from Earth- X: A world where the Nazis won WWII instead of the Allies. However fortunately earths heroes received assistance from the resistance of Earth-X and managed to defeat the invasion.
In late 2018, the Earth was tested by the god-like being known as The Monitor who wanted to prepare Earth and it's heroes for a threat that put the entire multiverse at risk. Putting the reality rewriting Book of Destiny in the hands of maddened Arkham Asylum Doctor John Deegan who used the book to rewrite reality in his own twisted image. However he was stopped by The Flash, Green Arrow, Supergirl, and their allies.
After Oliver Queen and his team completed one last mission for Mar Novu on Lian Yu[4] and Barry Allen and his team put an end to Bloodwork's reign of terror in Central City,[5] the skies turned crimson red over the island, city, and possibly the entire planet concurrently, signaling that the Crisis had begun.
