Biography[]
Early life[]
Emmitt had a daughter, Candice, with an unknown woman. At some point, he also developed a heart condition. From 2013 to 2022, Emmitt and Candice moved seven times, eventually settling in Smallville.[1] Emmit also served time at Stryker's Island at the same time that Lex Luthor was imprisoned there.[2]
Candice reluctantly began selling X-Kryptonite to Timmy Ryan so she could help her father pay the bills and avoid living on the streets.[3] After her boyfriend, Jonathan Kent, was caught with X-Kryptonite, Candice explained to Lois Lane that she had no other choice in order to keep her family stable and avoid having to move again, due to her father's heart condition.[1]
Threatening the Kents[]

Clark threatens Emmitt.
Emmitt stole Jonathan Kent's truck. After being confronted by Lois Lane and Jon in his house, he punched Jon in the face and threatened Lois with a gun.
Emmitt was later confronted by Clark Kent at Victoria May's. Kent easily beat up and pinned him to the counter, threatening to come after Emmitt or send him to prison by having Lois expose his criminal record if he ever hurt his family again. Emmitt then left Smallville and Candice behind.[4][5]
Outing Superman[]
Emmit was living in his car until he was contacted by Lex Luthor, who revealed to him Superman's true identity. Enraged, Emmit then returns to Smallville and breaks into Victoria May's with his gun, telling Clark that he knew he was Superman. He then shoots Clark to prove the truth, causing Clark to reveal himself as Superman when the bullet hits his suit and does no harm. Kyle Cushing then takes Emmit to be arrested by Deputy Chief Kya Johnson.[2]
Personality[]
Emmitt is an aggressive, rude, and disrespectful individual. He not only stole Jonathan Kent's truck but physically assaulted the boy when Jonathan had called him out on it. He even threatened to beat Lois Lane and pulled a gun on her when she came to her son's defense. Emmitt was similarly rude and arrogant when faced with Clark Kent, only to cower when the much larger and stronger man quickly overpowered him. This shows Emmet is meek and cowardly man when not in control or faced with individuals more powerful than him.
After his confrontation with Clark, Emmitt instantly decided to flee Smallville, proving that his bravado is just a tough act. He even abandoned Candice, the only person who cares about him, proving Emmitt cares for no one but himself, not even his own daughter.
Abilities[]
- Basic hand-to-hand combatant: Emmit has some skill in hand-to-hand combat, as he gave Jonathan Kent a black eye with one punch, proving that he has a powerful right hook. However, Emmitt is ultimately inferior to more seasoned combatants such as Clark Kent, who was able to overpower and pin him down with little to no effort.
- Thief: Emmitt successfully stole Jonathan's truck, though was quickly found out, proving that he is a very sloppy and careless thief.
