"Episode 5" is the fifth episode of the second season of Vixen, and the eleventh episode overall. It was released on November 11, 2016.
Plot[]
From his vantage point, Eshu gazes down upon the city of Detroit and transmits a video message, declaring his detachment from his government. He threatens to obliterate Detroit unless Vixen surrenders the Totem. Macalester contacts Vixen and reveals that he discovered a song within the archives. The song conveys that each Totem possesses a core, akin to a soul, and if that soul is crushed, the Totem loses its power. Macalester assures Vixen that she is destined for this battle.
Eshu locates the heroes and launches an attack. The heroes retaliate, but Eshu manages to keep them at bay. Amidst the chaos, Vixen fearlessly leaps through the raging fires and strikes Eshu, pushing him back. Black Canary joins the assault, yet Eshu swiftly repels her. When the Atom attempts to blast Eshu, he too is forced backward by Eshu's counterblast. Kuasa charges forward, unleashing a powerful water blast upon Eshu, and Vixen resolutely resumes her assault.
The wielder of the Fire Totem generates an intense blaze of heat, sending Kuasa reeling. However, Kuasa valiantly defends herself against the scorching flames, refusing to flee like their mother did. Despite her efforts, Eshu overwhelms Kuasa, reducing her to ashes before Vixen's eyes. Eshu advances toward Vixen, vowing to shatter her spirit before ending her life.
