Eric Frye is a former meta-human criminal who attempted to rob Central City Bank. He lost his powers when Matthew Kim took them and mistakenly transferred them to Jaco Birch.

Eric Frye had been in Central City when the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator exploded. The dark matter gave him pyrokinesis abilities and Eric decided to use his powers for personal gain. However, when The Flash appeared, Eric left Central City and decided to start a crime spree "on the road".

Over three years later when The Flash disappeared, Eric returned to Central City.

Eric tried to rob Central City Bank and melted the security guards' weapons. As he attempted to steal some money, Eric was suddenly challenged by Matthew Kim, who seemingly tried to appeal to him. Matthew touched Eric's shoulder but the latter threw him back and tried to kill him. However, Eric found that his powers were gone, much to his bewilderment. He was then tackled by security and arrested.[1]

Powers and abilities

Former powers

  • Meta-human physiology: After Eric was struck by the energy of the particle accelerator explosion, this altered his DNA and supercharged his cells, augmenting his physiology into allowing him to access his powers. However, thanks to Matthew Kim/Melting Point, Eric was stripped of his powers, rending him a normal human once again.
    • Pyrokinesis: Eric had the power to project fire from his hands of over 6,000 °F. These flames are hot enough to easily melt through the reinforced metal door of a bank vault.[1]
