Not to be confused with the Season 1 episode "Going Rogue"
"Well, we got a Rag Doll. A Weather Witch. And, uh... hold up, is that... Crazy Bee Girl? Hey, girl, what's going on? What a throwback."
Cisco Ramon
"Gone Rogue" is the twentieth episode of the fifth season of The Flash, and the one-hundred-twelfth episode overall. It aired on April 30, 2019.

Barry continues to struggle with how he feels about Nora's betrayal. Brie Larvan, Joss Jackam and Peter Merkel return to Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco makes a bold decision.[1]

  • This is the eighth episode with "Rogue" in the title.
  • This episode marks the first physical appearance of Emily Kinney (Brie Larvan) in the series since the Season 1 episode, "All Star Team Up", although she did appear on Arrow Season 4's "Beacon of Hope".
  • The title card changes to Nora's lightning, albeit it is now purple and red due to her newfound connection to the Negative Speed Force.
  • Nora breaks into an architecture firm called "G. Simone & Associates", a homage to iconic writer Gail Simone who became a bonafide fan-favorite over the years with her work including Birds of Prey, Batgirl, Sinister Six, and a whole lot more. Among the list of characters she's created is the Peter Merkel incarnation of Rag Doll.
  • One of the cross-streets mentioned by Team Flash being "34th and Williamson," a nod to Joshua Williamson, who has been writing The Flash comics since the DC relaunch in 2016.
  • Nora reveals that she wants herself and the Rogues to break into 'McCulloch Technologies', in the comics, Evan McCulloch is a professional assassin, who ultimately takes on the mantle of Mirror Master after Sam Scudder.
  • The Young Rogues attempt to get Cisco to hack Spencer Young's dark matter cell phone so that they could use it. Cisco has a rather amusing outlook on the whole ordeal, joking that he's gone through a similar sort of kidnapping before, and that it makes the new group of villains feel like a "rogues cover band," a reference to "Rogue Time" where Cisco was kidnapped by Leonard Snart, Mick Rory, and Lisa Snart, in an attempt to get him to build them a new Cold Gun, a new Heat Gun, and a Gold Gun, respectively.
  • Nora creates a fake ID to get into the McCulloch building, using the alias "Jenni Ognats". In the comics, Jenni is the young woman who holds the mantle of XS, as a speedster who also serves as part of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
  • After Sherloque breaks out of the reinforcements, Cisco asks how he was able to do that so easily, Sherloque reveals that he was trained by the 'Thaddeus Brown of Earth-51.' In the comics, Thaddeus is a famous escape artist, who operated under the stage name of "Mister Miracle". Shortly before dying at the hands of Intergang, Thaddeus served as a mentor to Scott Free, who became the superhero Mister Miracle in his memory.
  • Ralph assumes that Caitlin is making a move on him, only for her to act with disgust over the notion, a nod to how in Season 4, Ralph was meant to be Caitlin's love interest only for Danielle Panabaker to veto the idea.[2]
  • After Iris knocks out Merkel she remarks that he's lucky she doesn't throw him off a building, a reference to "All Doll'd Up", when Merkel did that to Barry and Iris jumped down after him to unlock the meta-cuffs Barry had been wearing at the time.
  • Ralph mentions Greys Anatomy to Caitlin. Caitlin's actress, Danielle Panabaker, appeared in an episode of the series.
  • Chris Klein (Orlin Dwyer) returns to the main cast in this episode after not being credited or appearing since Orlin died in "Time Bomb".
  • Cisco makes a reference to the television show Sex and the City, calling his satellites Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte.[3]

  • Cisco refers to Team Flash's (previously DeVoe's) four satellites as Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha. However, when he first hacked into these satellites in "All Doll'd Up", he'd named them Hal, Data, Robbie, and Colossus.
    • It's highly possible he renamed them once they got fixed.
