"You don't have to like me, I don't like you, but you have to work with me, to stop Zoom and Doctor Light. Can you do that?"
—Harrison Wells to Cisco Ramon about trust[src]

Dr. Harrison "Harry"[1] Wells is the founder of S.T.A.R. Labs on Earth-2.

Biography

Background

In 1991, Harrison founded S.T.A.R. Labs[2] and is the father of a unnamed daughter. He later held a press conference sometime after his particle accelerator exploded and created the metahumans to unveil a new series of gadgets and apps to alert the user of a metahuman presence and was confronted by The Flash and wanted him to expose his involvement in the Metahumans creation. [1] Sometime later, Harrison happened upon a tour group of children walking through S.T.A.R. Laboratories and greeted them.[2]

Hunting Zoom

He found his way through a breach between Earth-2 and Earth-1, underneath Earth-1's S.T.A.R. Labs.[3] Wells lurked around S.T.A.R. Labs for some time, watching Cisco Ramon in his efforts to save Martin Stein, then proceeding to make his way to Mercury Labs. As he stole a prototype weapon from the Applied Sciences Division, he set off the alarms but managed to evade the guards. He was however spotted by Tina McGee, an old friend of Harrison's late Earth-1 counterpart, who mistook him for the murderer using Earth-1 Wells' appearance.

He later arrived in time to use the gun he stole on "Man-shark", a metahuman sent by "Zoom", and knocked him out as he was attacking The Flash and Patty Spivot. As he walked away Flash chased after him and demanded to know who he was and Harrison pulled his hood off, revealing his identity to him. [4]

Harrison met Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow in the cortex of S.T.A.R Labs while reading the autobiography of the Earth-1 Harrison Wells. Barry introduced Cisco and Caitlin to Harrison and then explained that he was Earth-2's true Harrison Wells, not Eobard Thawne. Wells quickly explained that he had nothing to do with Barry’s mother's murder, and that he was his own man. He hands Catlin her purse, which Martin Stein threw into the breach, and Caitlin requests that she does a few tests on him, and while he reminds her that he will be identical the his Earth-1 counterpart, she still requests to do tests. Cisco is unsure about trusting him, and Barry explains further, saying that he saved his life. They question why he saved Barry, and he explains he came to Earth-1 to help Barry stop Zoom. He notices that the three had heard of Zoom before, and Barry explains to him that Zoom has been sending metahumans to kill him. Barry asks what he knows about Zoom, and Harrison reveals that he created Zoom and that he has been ignoring his involvement for too long, and he is now willing to help. He goes on to say that Zoom is obsessed with speed, and wants to be the only speedster in the known multiverse, and will continue sending metahumans to kill the Flash until one of them succeeds.

Joe West then walks in and immediately attempts to shoot Wells, however Barry is able to catch the bullets before any real harm is done. Joe questions Wells' being there, and Joe and Barry leave as Caitlin also leaves to search for Jay Garrick. Later, after first confronting Doctor Light, Harrison gives them the rundown on who Doctor Light is, explaining that she is a bank robber with the power to absorb power from starlight. They note that Zoom obviously sent her to Earth-1 and Wells comments that they can now use that to their advantage, and that they can capture Doctor Light and use her to lure Zoom to S.T.A.R Labs. Garrick and Snow walk in and Jay objects immediately. Harrison is not surprised to find Jay here, and Jay says that he lost his speed, then got pulled in by the singularity. He says that Zoom is getting more powerful and that he must be defeated while he can, which Jay refuses to, and says that they may be able to reason with Doctor Light, which Harrison disagrees with. Cisco later walks in on Harrison working in his work station. They talk about Earth-1's Harrison Wells and comment on his mistakes. Cisco reveals that Eobard had killed him within an erased timeline. Wells then convinces Cisco that they must work together to stop Doctor Light and Zoom. After Barry is blinded, Harrison guesses that the effect will last 6.25 hours, though the effect could have been avoided if he directly fought her. Barry reveals that she is the Earth-2 equivalent of his ex-girlfriend, Linda Park.

Wells says that Zoom intently brought her in order to make him hesitate. Barry worries that she will kill Earth-1 Linda Park. Harrison suggests they protect Linda, and Jay and Caitlin leave as Joe andIris West walk in. Iris stands in shock, and Wells guesses that Earth-1 Wells did something to her. Cisco explains that Eobard was the reason her fiance died, and he leaves. Later, after Doctor Light attempts to kill her doppelganger, Jay apologizes, saying that he thought they could reason with her. Wells angrily argues that they cannot reason with somebody under Zoom's influence, and that a man died because of him. He believes that Barry can stop Zoom and Doctor Light, but not with Jay, because he fears Zoom. Jay retaliates, saying he hunted Zoom for two years. Wells scoffs, saying that Zoom hunted him and that Jay was too cowardly to fight Zoom. After calling him a coward, a brief fight breaks out between Jay and Harrison. Barry breaks it up and separates them into different rooms. Harrison says that Barry is faster than Jay will ever be, and should not be instructed by him, but instead the other way around. He then repeats his plan to capture Doctor Light.

They get the mask that Iris shot off Light and discuss how to track Light using the mask. He reveals to the team that he knows Cisco has powers. And uses his metahuman-detecting watch to prove so. Cisco attempts to use his powers to see Light, but fails. Wells vehemently tells him to try again, and when Cisco once again fails, Wells simply tells him to try harder. He then grabs it and pushes it into his arms, and Cisco finally sees her. After Barry gets to her, and discovers that he cannot get close to her, Harrison devises a plan. He tells Barry to use his speed to create speed mirages to distract her. Barry succeeds on his second try, incapacitating Light. After putting Light in the pipeline, Iris thanks him for stopping Doctor Light. Barry accepts Wells' earlier plan to seek out Zoom but Jay refuses to participate. Later, when Barry, Cisco and Caitlin are having coffee, Harrison is seen watching them through the window.

Personality

Unlike his Earth-1 counterpart, Harrison is more like Eobard Thawne with his true demeanor, coming off very blunt and inconsiderate. He carries himself in a very sardonic, egotistical manner. For example, his reference to how Eobard killed Barry's mother is delivered in a casual and sarcastic manner, and he even straight up told Cisco he didn't like him in response to Cisco's initial wariness of Wells. He even laughed in amusement when Cisco told him Eobard killed him in an alternate timeline.
