- "Your mental health has nothing to do about who you are."
- "How do you know that? I'm half-human half-whatever the hell he is."
- —Lois Lane and Jordan Kent[src]
Hybrids are individuals who have the DNA of two different species. This can occur naturally by individuals from two species having a child, or it can be introduced through artificial means.
History[]
Original multiverse[]
Earth-1[]
After being scratched by a Kaupe, Mona Wu's genetic makeup was altered, resulting in her becoming a human-Kaupe hybrid.[1]
Earth-38[]
At some point in the 1990s, Maeve and Nia Nal were born as human-Naltorian hybrids to Paul and Isabel Nal.[2]
In 1998, Elizabeth Hawkings, was born to the human Natalie Hawkings and Amadei Derros, an alien of unknown species.[3]
In 2019, Jonathan Kent, a human-Kryptonian hybrid, was born on Argo City to the human Lois Lane and the Kryptonian Clark Kent.[4]
Earth-96[]
At some point, Jason, a human-Kryptonian hybrid, was born on Earth to the human Lois Lane and the Kryptonian Clark Kent.[5]
Earth-167[]
At some point, the human Lois Lane and the Kryptonian Clark Kent had at least two daughters. It is unknown if their children inherited any Kryptonian powers from their father, considering he had given up his powers.[5]
New multiverse[]
Earth-Prime[]
When Amelia Earhart was flying around the world, she was taken by Kayla to Pliny X19. As part of his experiments, Bishop spliced her DNA with Zaguron DNA. For unknown reasons, instead of just altering her genetic makeup, this created a Zaguron "split personality" inside her. The Zaguron part fought for total control of Amelia's body, which it eventually won, resulting in Amelia's death. The freed Zaguron part was then killed by Spooner.[6]
In the 1990s, Maeve and Nia Nal were born as human-Naltorian hybrids to Paul and Isabel Nal.[2]
Sometime after this, Sara Lance was also taken by Kayla to Pliny X19. On the planet she encountered Amelia Earhart, who was temporarily overcome by her Zaguron part, which attacked and poisoned her. Sara was eventually taken by Bishop, who claimed that he would cure her.[7] Instead, as there is no cure to Zaguron poison, her body died, but Bishop made a cloned body by combining her DNA with that of an Kriblix and transferred her consciouness into it. Due to this, Sara received regenerative abilities as part of the alien DNA.[6] It is possible for the Kriblix part of Sara to impregnate a cell from Ava and thus create their daughter.[8]
Sometime before or during the 31st century, a Green Martian-White Martian hybrid was born to J'onn J'onzz and M'gann M'orzz.[9]
Earth-9[]
At some point, Rachel Roth was born as a human-demon hybrid, presumably as the child of a human and a demon.[10]
Earth-TUD25[]
In 2006, the twins Jonathan and Jordan Kent were born as human-Kryptonian hybrids to Lois Lane and Clark Kent.[11] A bit over a year following this, Lois fell pregnant again, but for unknown reasons had a miscarriage; Lois eventually developed cancer.[12]
Identified hybrids[]
Green Martian-White Martian[]
Green Martian-White Martian hybrids can occur naturally by a Green Martian and a White Martian having a child.[13]
Human-demon[]
Human-demon hybrids can occur naturally by a human and a demon having a child.[10]
It is possible for the child to receive powers from their demonic parent, as evidenced by Rachel Roth's umbrakinesis.[10]
Human-Kriblix[]
It is not known whether a human-Kriblix hybrid can be created naturally, as the only known hybrid is Sara Lance, who was artificially made a hybrid by Bishop.[6]
Human-Kryptonian[]
Human-Kryptonian hybrids can occur naturally by a human and a Kryptonian having a child.
It is possible for the child to receive powers from their Kryptonian parent, as evidenced by Jordan Kent's powers, but they also can be recessive due to their human genes, as evidenced by Jonathan Kent's absence of powers, however, due to their genetic mix-up, their genes might cause instability in their powers, such as Jordan Kent's case, in which he cannot completely control his heat vision or his super-hearing. With time Jordan grew to have more control over his abilities.
Human-Naltorian[]
Human-Naltorian hybrids can occur naturally by a human and a Naltorian having a child.
There are no known traits unique to these hybrids, but the enhanced durability of Naltorians is able to be passed down. Female human-Naltorian hybrids are also still able to inherit the connection to the Dreaming, provided that their mother was Naltorian.[2] It is also possible for such a hybrid to continue to pass on the powers, as Nia Nal was able to not only inherit the powers from her full-Naltorian mother, but is expected to pass on the powers for generations, such as her descendant Nura Nal.[2]
Human-Winathian[]
Human-Winathian hybrids can occur naturally by a human and a Winathian having a child.[14]
Human-Zaguron[]
It is not known whether a human-Zaguron hybrid can be created naturally, as the only known hybrid was Amelia Earhart, who was artificially made a hybrid by Bishop.[15]
Human-Unknown[]
It is also possible to create natural hybrids between humans and Amadei Derros' species (unknown alien?).[3]

Powers and abilities[]
Powers[]
Some hybrids possess powers due to the species of one side of their family, like Nia Nal, a half-Naltorian who inherited the power of oneiromancy from her mother. However these powers can be unstable due to their mixed DNA, such as Jordan Kent's with his heat vision and noise sensitivity, or they can become recessive, due to their human genes. Hybrids can also be created and/or obtain powers by artificial means, such as genetic splicing, but in some cases, this can create an alien part (or fully seperate entity) that will eventually take over the body of its host, killing the host in the process, such as Amelia Earhart, who was killed when the Zaguron in her took over her body. The opposite seemingly happens for Sara Lance, affected by Kayla who spliced Kriblix DNA into Sara's clone body and hence giving her regenerative powers.
