"I come from a race of shapeshifters, Kara. Why shouldn't our technology shapeshift too?"
J'onn J'onzz on his cruiser's disguised form[src]

J'onn J'onzz owns a cruiser with the ability of shape-shifting and interplanetary travel.

History[]

J'onn used this cruiser to escape from Mars to Earth, eventually disguising it as a classic car. He later used it to travel to Mars with Supergirl, where they aided M'gann's White Martian Resistance and found out that J'onn's father, M'yrnn, was still alive. After finding and rescuing him, M'yrnn joined Kara and J'onn when they flew the cruiser back to Earth.[1]

Supergirl also used it multiple times to travel to Argo City, being caught in its tractor beam; but the ship was stolen by the Children of Juru. To get back to Earth, Mon-El had to use a transmatter portal instead; either way, the cruiser was now back on Earth again.[2]

Later, J'onn gave his ship (initially, shape shifting car) to his brother, Malefic J'onzz, so that he can travel back to Mars and assist M'gann M'orzz with the civil war.[3] Kara and Alex drove the car to Midvale to visit their (adoptive) mother, respectively; and then back to National City, narrowly avoiding accidents that J'onn would not take lightly to.[4]

"Just Married"

On Earth-Prime, in car form, the cruiser is still used to drive between places; it trailed wedding decorations with a "Just Married" plate stuck to the back of the car.[5]

Behind the scenes[]

  • In the DC comics, the Jump Shuttle is the name of the spacecraft used by the Justice League, mainly Martian Manhunter, and is made from Martian technology. It debuted in JLA #10 (September, 1997).
  • The car used is a Chevrolet Convertible (Bel Air, according to Winn[6]); its number plate is '10ST176'. it could also stand for 'LOST176', though further meaning is unknown.[4]
