A fortress was Kal-El's sanctuary in the Amazon, which holds information about his dead planet Krypton and allows him to communicate with the A.I. of his late father, Jor-El.
History[]
After Kal-El escaped from a U.S. military base, he built and then came to the Fortress to learn about his abilities, with the help of Jor-El.[1]

- The Fortress of Solitude in the comics is Superman's sanctuary located in the Arctic. It first appeared in Superman #17 (July, 1942), created by Jerry Siegel and John Sikela.
