Kal-El used a pod to escape Krypton.
History[]
After his homeworld, Krypton, was destroyed, baby Kal-El was rocketed off to Earth inside the pod. His pod then crash-landed in Smallville, where farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent found him.

Jordan Kent finds the pod.
When the Kent family returned to Smallville to arrange the funeral of Martha, Clark's children Jonathan and Jordan Kent investigated the Kent Farm's barn. After finding a trapdoor that led to a cellar, the two boys uncovered the pod as Jordan discovered a mysterious stone within the ship.[1]
