"Kapiushon"^[1] is the seventeenth episode of the fifth season of Arrow, and the one-hundred-and-ninth episode overall.^[2] It aired on March 22, 2017.^[1]

Synopsis

Prometheus goes to great lengths to break Oliver. Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Anatoly becomes worried about Oliver’s increasingly violent tendencies, which come to a head in a brutal confrontation.^[3]

Production

Preparation ran from January 19, 2016 until January 27, 2017. Shooting ran from January 30 until February 8, 2017.^[2]

Trivia

This is the first appearance of Malcolm Merlyn in Oliver Queen's flashback storyline.
The episode was originally titled "Kapot".^[2]
- The Russian word Kapot (Капот) translates to "a car hood". The actual term for "hood" (as in, headdress) is Kapyushon (Капюшон), what the episode was later roughly retitled to.
This episode marks John Barrowman being in all Arrowverse shows (aside from Supergirl) airing the week of March 20, 2017, having played Cutter Moran on The Flash, and Malcolm Merlyn on DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
This is the first episode of Season 5 where Rick Gonzalez's character Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog does not appear.
This is one of the shortest appearances of Star City on Arrow, as it appeared only at the last minute of the episode (not including a brief flashback at the begining). Another short appearance was in The Return.
Madison McLaughlin's character, Evelyn Sharp/Artemis returns after a 7 episode hiatus.
Dolph Lundgren's character, Konstantin Kovar returns after a 10 episode hiatus.
This episode depict how Oliver finaly get his Bratva tattoo as a reward by Anatoly and how he lost it due to Adrian's vengeance.
