Krypton was a planet located in the universe of Earth-99. Before its destruction, it was the former home planet of the Kryptonians, including Superman.
History[]
At some point, Krypton exploded. The destruction of the planet released a shockwave that knocked baby Clark's pod off course and also sent radioactive pieces of the mineral Kryptonite flying into space, some of which found its way to Earth.
After the Kryptonian Clark was sent from Krypton to Earth, where he later became a superhero known as Superman. The planet then exploded shortly afterwards, where Kryptonite from Krypton also somehow made its way to Earth.[1]
At some point, Clark was killed by Batman, leaving no Kryptonians in Earth-99. Any remains of kryptonite (on or including Earth) were eventually destroyed when a wave of antimatter swept through the universe, except for the piece taken by Kate Kane.[1]
