The Lane family are a human family who are residents of Metropolis. The Lanes are a family with a long military tradition; Sam Lane is a general of the U.S. Army just like his father before him, while his younger daughter Lucy is a major of the JAG Corps and the oldest one, Lois, despite being a military brat, eventually chose to become a reporter at the Daily Planet.[1]
