"Lost in the Flood" is the twenty-second episode of the fourth season of Arrow, and the ninety-first episode overall. It aired on May 18, 2016.

Synopsis

Following the shocking events in the previous episode, Oliver and Diggle race to rescue Thea, while Felicity, Curtis and Noah join together to stop Darhk.[src]

Production

Preparation ran from March 18 until March 29, 2016, with a break on March 25, 2016 for Good Friday. Shooting ran from March 30 until April 8, 2016.

Trivia

• Damien Darhk refers to the world going "Dr. Strangelove", referencing the 1964 film which ends with the world entering a nuclear apocalypse.

• Felicity states to Curtis and Noah that the world will have a "sequel to WarGames" if they don't hack Rubicon and stop Genesis. This is a reference to 1983 film WarGames, where the young hacker David Lightman tries to stop supercomputer WOPR from launching nuclear missiles.
  • Curtis also mentions its 2008 sequel, WarGames: The Dead Code, which was released on DVD and, in contrast to original, was panned by critics.

• When Oliver and John enter Tevat Noah, John compared it to Mount Weather, a governmental facility which was built by FEMA during the Cold War.

• During the hacking battle over Rubicon, Cooper Seldon taunts Felicity that they are going to "once more unto the breach." This is from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, which Curtis recognizes.

• This episode follows the pattern of the penultimate episode of a season being named after a Bruce Springsteen song, in this case after the 1973 song "Lost in the Flood".
• Curtis mentions that after doing some research he figured out that despite all the crime that has been depicted in the show, they live in the second most dangerous place in America. This is a very subtle Batman reference, as there has always been jokes made in both DC shows and comics that Gotham City has the highest crime-rate in America, there is even a quote in Smallville (2001) where someone says "Do you know that Star City has the second highest crime rate in America? Well, if you count Gotham"
• The underground Hive community is called Tevat Noah. This is actually Hebrew for "Noah's Ark".
