Melissa Marie Benoist (born October 4, 1988) is an American actress. She portrayed Kara Danvers/Supergirl and Kara/Overgirl in Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, Batwoman and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, also voicing the latter in Freedom Fighters: The Ray. She also portrayed Jane Doe/Bizarro and Red Daughter in Supergirl.

- Benoist became engaged to Supergirl co-star Chris Wood (who played Mon-El) in February 2019 and married in September the same year. On March 4, 2020, they announced they were expecting their first child.[1] .
- From 2013-2015, Benoist was married to Blake Jenner (who played Adam Foster), but she filed for divorce from him at the end of 2016.
- Benoist originally auditioned for the role of Thea Queen but the role was given to Willa Holland.[2]
