Melissa Marie Benoist (born October 4, 1988) is an American actress. She portrays Kara Danvers/Supergirl and Kara/Overgirl in Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, also voicing the latter in Freedom Fighters: The Ray. She also portrayed Jane Doe/Bizarro and Red Daughter in Supergirl.

- She became engaged to Supergirl co-star Chris Wood in February 2019 and married in September the same year. In March 2020, they announced they are expecting their first child.[2] .
- From 2013-2015[3] Benoist was married to fellow actor Blake Jenner, but she filed for divorce from him at the end of 2016.
- When the series, Arrow, was casting for Thea Queen, Melissa Benoist auditioned for her but ultimately lost to Willa Holland. Melissa would go on however to be cast as Kara Danvers in Supergirl.[4]
