Michael Akins is the father of Bryan Akins and the mayor of Gotham City.

Biography

Original multiverse

At some point before 2018, Michael Akins became the mayor of Gotham.[1]

Akins made an appearance at an event at which the city planned to turn off the Bat-Signal. However, the event was interrupted. Due to this, Akins called Commander Jacob Kane of Crows Security to confirm whether they were going ahead with their movie in the park event. Indeed, going ahead, Kane assured Akins of the event's safety.[1]

Anti-Monitor Crisis

During the Anti-Monitor Crisis, Michael as well as everyone in the multiverse except for the seven Paragons, was killed in an antimatter wave by the Anti-Monitor on December 10, 2019,[2] only to be restored a month later, after the Paragons and the Spectre created a new universe.[3]

New multiverse

At some point in Michael's past, he had a son named Bryan. At another point, he became the mayor of Gotham City.[4]

In a press conference, the mayor tried to quiet the population of Gotham City about the threats of the hacker Terrier. However, the transmission was hacked by the villain, with his face covered by the Terrier's avatar and his credit card number leaked.[5]

His son Bryan was kidnapped by Mouse in order to bargain the freedom of Alice, eventually freed by Kate Kane.[4]

  • In the DC comics, Michael Akins is the former police commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department. In the New 52, he became mayor of Gotham City.
