Behind the scenes[]
- The "father" who rejected his "son", the Minotaur, is most probably referring to King Minos. In Greek mythology, Minos, the king of the island of Crete had a wife named Pasiphaë, who had a child (named Asterion or Asterius, more commonly known to the Greeks as the Minotaur) with a white-headed bull bestowed by Poseidon as punishment for the king not sacrificing the majestic bull and for sacrificing a normal bull instead.
