Mississippi is a state in the United States on Earth-1. The state borders Louisiana to the west, Arkansas to the north-west, Tennessee to the north, and Alabama to the east. The Gulf of Mexico lines the state's southern coast.[1] The Mississippi River was the site of an aberration regarding an outbreak of Confederate "zombie" soldiers in 1863 during the American Civil War.
History[]
At some point, Mississippi became a state of the United States. It was one of the original thirteen colonies that declared independence during the American Revolutionary War of 1776.[2] Sometime in the 21st century, the state was labeled on a map used by Chas Chandler.[3]

In 1863 during the American Civil War, a time pirate crash-landed with his timeship in Mississippi from 2235, carrying a futuristic bioweapon. He was later exposed to the virus and spread it to numerous Confederate soldiers, causing symptoms comparable to infected zombies. This interfered with General Ulysses S. Grant's efforts in Mississippi when zombified soldiers killed Henry Scott, causing a time aberration. The Legends arrived in Mississippi to fix the aberration. Jefferson Jackson and Amaya Jiwe infiltrated the Collins Plantation to complete Scott's mission. The duo also freed all the slaves and burned down the plantation during a zombie attack. Sara and Nate helped General Ulysses S. Grant destroy the rest of the zombie horde. Jax gave General Grant the Confederate plans, fixing the aberration.[5]

Aberration timeline[]
In an alternate timeline, the outbreak of confederate zombies ensured that Henry Scott's mission failed and that the Union lost the Battles of Champion Hill and Vicksburg. Due to these events, the Union lost the American Civil War and the United States split into two factions, with Mississippi remaining as a part of the Confederacy's thirteen states.[5]
