Trivia

  • The opening monologue is referenced in both the episode title and through a conversation between Felicity and Oliver.
  • The main villain for Season 4 is introduced.
  • The episode introduced Thea wearing the Arsenal outfit as well as her being officially christened as the vigilante "Speedy".
  • The two streets named "Adams" and "O'Neil" are a reference to Neal Adams and Dennis J. "Denny" O'Neil, respectively. Neal Adams is a prolific comic book artist while Denny O'Neil is a famous comic book writer. During the 1960s and 1970s, Adams and O'Neil collaborated on the comic books Green Lantern/Green Arrow and Batman, during which the two created John Stewart (Green Lantern), Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins.
  • After Oliver stabs Ra's al Ghul, the sentence in Arabic that Ra's said to Oliver on "The Climb", is the same one Oliver says to Ra's.
  • This would technically be the THIRD time Starling City has had another terrorist attack. The first was caused by Malcolm's earthquake machine, the second time was caused by Slade's Mirakuru enhanced soldiers, and this time it's caused by the Alpha and Omega bio weapon, but unlike the latter two times, Team Arrow successfully stops the attack before there were mass casualties.
