Professor Naxim Tork (born 1608/1609), also known under the aliases The Ringmaster and Alien King, was an alien poacher and trafficker who went after Kara Zor-El in 2009, before his capture by the D.E.O. in Uruguay.

Early life

Naxim Tork in the future D.E.O. database.

Naxim Tork was born sometime around 1608 or 1609. At some point, he began running his own (failing) cosmic menagerie, becoming a known poacher and alien trafficker.

Sometime after this, Naxim discovered that there was a Kryptonian on the planet Earth; given that the planet Krypton was destroyed, he felt that finding this person would allow him to have a unique specimen. However, when he went to Metropolis to capture Kal-El, he failed.[1]

Original timeline

On May 26, 2009, upon discovering another Kryptonian on Earth, Naxim felt that it was his destiny to have one for himself. Tork, along with his crewmate Mitch, searched for the Kryptonian in Midvale, but was unsuccessful in capturing her.

Three days later, Tork traveled to Uruguay, where he was captured by the D.E.O..[1]

Altered timeline

As a result of Querl Dox and Nia Nal time-travelling to 2009, an alternate timeline was created. On May 26, 2009, while searching for Kara Zor-El, he also identified Querl and Nia as being aliens, before adding them to his menagerie.

First, Tork and Mitch made a deal with Cat Grant and mistakenly confused Kenny Li with the Kryptonian, then locked Cat and Kenny in a cell.

At some point following the capture of Querl and Nia, Tork then successfully captured Kara Zor-El, and was then able to evade capture by the D.E.O.[1]

Current timeline

To prevent Tork's capture of Kara Zor-El and escape from the D.E.O., Querl Dox and Nia Nal time traveled again. Tork was prevented from adding Kara to his menagerie, and was then locked in his ship with his crew mate Mitch. To ensure the timeline was not dramatically altered, his ship was programmed to travel to Uruguay, where it emitted a signal to the D.E.O., resulting in his capture.[2]

Powers and abilities

  • Extended longevity: While unknown if an aspect of his race or unique to him, Naxim apparently ages much slower than humans. At over 400 years old, he is still in his physical prime.
