- "Beware the blood-red moon, when the door that separates death from life will be opened."
- —The first line of an oath taken by members of the Order[src]
The Order of the Shrouded Compass was an infamous secret society of London's aristocracy in the Victorian era, which believed in the occult and at one point aided in the resurrection of Damien Darhk, connected to the appearance of the powerful demon Mallus. It appears that they are still thriving as of 2017.
History[]
In 1895, Henry Stein began leading the Order to resurrect Damien Darhk. He later attended a party, where Nora Darhk displayed supposed powers, summoning the demon Mallus through her. Later that night, when the moon completely eclipsed, causing a blood-red moon, Damien Darhk was resurrected at a gathering of members of the Order. They were interrupted, however, by members of the Time Bureau. A fight ensued before Damien and Nora escaped.[1]
On September 23, 2017, Nora, under the alias "Emily", was admitted to the Sumner Asylum in Star City after Mallus began possessing her. Despite the Legends' attempts to save her, Nora was emotionally manipulated by her father into accepting Mallus and joining the Order, with claims that they would eventually be reunited. She was left under the guidance of the head asylum orderly, Dr. Ellen Moore, who was revealed to be a member of the Order.[2]
