- "I know who you are. My mother was the Dreamer before me, and her mother before her, all the way back to you. You are the original Dreamer. You are the ancient source of Naltorian dream energy I've been looking for."
- —Nia Nal[src]
An unnamed woman was the original Dreamer from Naltor. After her death, her spirit began to guide the current Dreamer, Nia Nal, to reach her true potential.
Biography[]
Early life[]
While living on Naltor, the woman became the first Dreamer, receiving the powers of the Dreamer.[1]
Helping Nia Nal[]
- "She's the one I've been looking for. I just didn't realize it. And now that I've connected with her, she is going to teach me to use my powers in all new ways. So it turns out that my potential is beyond my wildest dreams."
- —Nia Nal[src]
At some point, Nia Nal lost her power while trying to find a Naltorian source of power. On 2023, Nia had a dream in which a group of people appear behind her with the hooded woman. Nia says that she can't stop her now that she's this close and prepares to battle the woman, but she is able to remove her power. Iris West inexplicably appears and tells Nia that it's about control and then collapses.
Nia then went to CCCM to meet Iris. The hooded woman shows up and Nia gets a headache. Iris can't see the woman, but she falls to the ground with Nia, and they are both transported into the Dreaming together. In the dream, Iris and Nia run through a narrow hallway, which merge into the same place where Nia's nightmare began. The hooded woman shows up and Nia tells Iris to run. She twists her wrists and Iris gets a headache. Nia yells at the woman that she is control and suddenly a door opens back to CCCM, but the two are still dreaming.
Nia tells the woman that she's ready to give up control and accepts whatever comes next. So she removes her hood and shows herself to be the original Dreamer, giving Nia the power now that they've both embraced their paths and both Nia and Iris wake up completely fine at S.T.A.R. Labs. After that, Nia explains to Team Flash that the original Dreamer is going to teach her how to use her powers. The empath Cecile Horton can feel the original Dreamer in the room, but only Nia can see her.[1]

- Precognition: This power allows her to see attacks yet to come and to prepare for it.[1]
- Dream-walking: Apart from dreaming the future, it was hinted that one in possession of this trait can also use it to "dream-walk" into the same dream with other people, allowing the Dreamer to mentally drift into the subconsciousness of one who also sleeps.[1]
- Astral projection: The woman is capable of projecting her consciousness; allowing her to exit her body and travel in an astral body. This is an advanced technique for an oneiromancer, months ahead of basic training, according to Querl Dox.[1]
- Oneirokinetic blasts: The woman can manipulate dreamy energy blasts.[1]
