An unnamed woman (died May 4, 2017)[1] was the sister of the late Orlin Dwyer, the wife of a late unnamed man, and the mother of Grace Gibbons.

Early life

The woman and her brother, Orlin Dwyer, grew up together in the Midwest.[2] Their relationship is implied to have become distant in adulthood, as Orlin remained ignorant of the major events in his sister's life.[1]

The woman later moved to Central City, where she eventually got married. In 2008, the woman and her husband had a daughter, Grace Gibbons.[3]

On May 4, 2017, the woman and her family visited Gold City Bank. Initially opting to wait in the car with Grace, the woman realized her husband forgot his ATM card so she went to the bank to deliver it to him. As he prepared to make a withdrawal from an ATM, the machine suddenly exploded (having been charged with energy just moments before by Vickie Bolen), killing the couple.[1][4]

After the woman and her husband's deaths, Grace was placed in the care of Orlin, who was disturbed upon learning of his sister's fate. After a rocky start, Orlin cleaned up his act to ensure his sister's daughter would have a happy childhood.[5]

The Central City Police Department ruled the couple's demise as a meta-human attack due to the unusual circumstances, but the incident was left unreported at the behest of Mayor Anthony Bellows. As a result, Vickie Bolen remained unaware of her inadvertent deed.[1]

The woman's murder was one of the main catalysts for Orlin, and later Grace's, vendetta against meta-humans.
