"My name is Bruce Wayne, but you'll probably feel more comfortable calling me Owlman. Don't worry—I'm here to save the world."
—Bruce Wayne revealing himself to Team Flash[src]

Bruce Wayne,[1] better known as Owlman, was a resident of Earth-27A and a member of the Crime Syndicate of America who was involved in converting a giant treadmill into a weapon to destroy the Time Trapper.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Bruce Wayne was born to Tommy and Martha Wayne in Gotham City. In his childhood, Bruce witnessed his parents' murders by the hands of corrupt cop Gordon and his partner Napier, surviving the massacre by hiding behind a trash can. Bruce then swore that he would never rest until he made Gotham into a place where no one would suffer such an injustice again.

After years of training, and learning from wretched people from Metropolis and Opal City, Bruce gathered enough skills and knowledge to tear down the golden palaces of Gotham's moneyed elite.[2]

Becoming Owlman and founding the Crime Syndicate[]

In 2014, Bruce was in Central City when the particle accelerator exploded and witnessed the creation of hyperhumans. He encountered hyperhumans such as Ultraman, Superwoman, Power Ring and Johnny Quick, who were very powerful but lacked self-control and morality. Bruce adopted their ridiculous notions of costumes and colorful sobriquets as camouflage to walk among them, taking on the alias of "Owlman". Bruce manipulated the four others into believing they were part of a team and formed the Crime Syndicate of America, secretly ensuring that the hyperhumans would become less of a threat to him.

The Crime Syndicate soon took over the United States, after which they each controlled a different part of the country. Bruce only kept Gotham City as his own personal kingdom, where he took out the rich families such as the Bertinellis, Zuccos and Maronis, and hung their corpses from the highest parapets of Gotham Tower as a warning.[3][1][2]

In 2016, James Jesse showed a map of the United States revealing each territory of the country taken by the Crime Syndicate. Owlman's symbol was an owl head.[3]

Stranded on another Earth[]

In 2018, Bruce built a device in Central City that opened a breach to Earth-1A's Central City in order to escape the destruction of his world caused by the Anti-Matter Man. Later, instead of attacking that new universe like the rest of the Crime Syndicate, Bruce removed his disguise and masqueraded as an ordinary citizen. After witnessing the Syndicate's defeat, Bruce started planning to take over Central City, but was interrupted by a cop who recognized him as Bruce Wayne.[1]

Meeting Madame Xanadu and learning of his fate[]

After studying this new Earth's history in the Central City Public Library, and realizing how lax the people of this world were compared to his own home world, Bruce deduced that S.T.A.R. Labs was the secret base of operations of the Flash. He managed to break into S.T.A.R. Labs undetected and spied on Team Flash where he learned from their conversation that the Flash is in another world and prepared to enact his initial plan. However, Madame Xanadu revealed that she was lying to Iris West-Allen all this time about her condition and waited for Bruce to show up, which frightened him a bit for the first time in a very long time. Madame Xanadu summoned a projection of the multiverse and revealed to Owlman the imminent destruction of this multiverse and that he could help in saving it. Madame Xanadu later allowed Bruce take her hostage in order to convince Team Flash that he was their only hope in saving the multiverse.[2]
