Palmer Technologies is a company run by Ray Palmer. Previously known as Queen Consolidated, Ray Palmer took it over and rebranded it as Palmer Technologies. Ray's primary goal for doing so was to help rebuild Starling City by having it renamed Star City but also to use its resources in order to make his A.T.O.M. Exosuit, and become the vigilante known "The Atom". It also formerly served as the new base of operations for Team Arrow, in secret, after Ray became affiliated with the team following the exposure of their previous base. Felicity Smoak serves as the current CEO of Palmer Technologies after Ray's believed death. In one possible future, it is re-branded as Smoak Technologies.

History

Palmer Technologies became known for, among other things, producing smart wearables.[1][2]

In late 2014, Ray Palmer was named CEO over Oliver Queen of Queen Consolidated. Having a new vision for the company, he rebranded it as Palmer Technologies.[3]

Even though Isabel Rochev forcibly took over Queen Consolidated and ran the company and it's share's into the ground to make the Queen family penniless their shares were still part of the company when Ray Palmer took it over and made the company profitable again. As a result Oliver has 45% stock and receives money from the company to fund his activities as The Arrow.

In 2015, Palmer Technologies suffered the effects of a large explosion in the CEO's office, the consequences of which resulted in the death of then CEO Ray Palmer. Six months later it was revealed that Felicity Smoak has been named CEO and is currently running the company. Another effect was that the stock price of the company dropped as a result of Ray's assumed death. A problem that Felicity was still trying to fix months after Ray's death. When Ray was found alive Felicity offered to return the CEO position to Ray, he however declined it for the moment.

In one possible version of the year 2046 experienced by Rip Hunter's team, in which Ray and Sara Lance never returned from their trip to the future, it is revealed that the company was now called "Smoak Technologies". This suggests that Felicity believed that Ray was dead and eventually changed the name. Felicity is mentioned in passing to still be alive, but to have evacuated Star City after it was attacked by Grant Wilson, the second Deathstroke. Whether Smoak Technologies as a company still existed, or if it had gone under when their headquarters was abandoned, was unknown.[4]
